Hosting Plan Finder

Match your traffic, maintenance preference, store needs and CMS to a hosting plan type — then a shortlist of realistic India options with intro vs renewal prices side by side. Results show who owns what (you vs the host), not a fake traffic guarantee. Prices are dated public snapshots labelled as estimates — verify at checkout and expect GST.

Before you trust any hosting shortlist

Shared is usually enough when

  • the site is a brochure, blog or light WordPress build
  • you can update plugins safely and a test restore has worked
  • you have not hit a written resource limit

Look at VPS or managed cloud when

  • 503 errors continue after fixing images, plugins and cache
  • you need isolation or a custom stack
  • a busy store with logged-in users is straining shared limits
  • you want the host to own more of the stack

Check on every quote

  • the renewal: Hostinger Premium is ₹139 a month on a ₹6,672 48-month prepay, then ₹449 (23 Oct 2026)
  • GST is usually extra, and Cloudways bills in US dollars
  • an uptime SLA is a fee credit, not cover for lost sales
  • what support won’t fix, such as theme or plugin code

Choose hosting around responsibility, not a traffic promise

A useful finder asks who will restore the site, who updates WordPress, and what happens when a neighbour on shared hosting spikes CPU. Visitor bands help — they do not decide alone. A small ecommerce checkout can stress a server more than a larger brochure site.

Intro pricing vs renewal (the India shared-hosting pattern)

Most shared brands in India sell a long prepaid intro rate and a higher published renewal. Hostinger India’s public Premium band (23 Oct 2026) shows about ₹139/mo on a 48-month prepaid total of ₹6,672, renewing at ₹449/mo. MilesWeb markets same-price renewal on some plans — still verify the cart. BigRock’s Business plan was about ₹159/mo intro, renewing near ₹649/mo (approximate, Sep 2026). Always model year two before you celebrate year one.

When shared is enough / when you need VPS

Shared is enough when the site is light, you can update plugins safely, backups restore in a drill, and you have not hit a written resource limit. Move toward VPS or managed cloud when traffic or store load is high, you need isolation, you want the host to own more of the stack, or shared 503s persist after optimisation. Optimise images, plugins and cache before you buy a bigger box.

Read “unlimited” as a marketing label

Plans still carry storage, inode, CPU, RAM, process and fair-use limits. Ask for the limits that apply to your exact SKU and whether the host warns before throttling. Price alone should not decide the purchase if restore and support boundaries are unclear.

Useful checks before you act on the result

  • Write intro vs renewal × months, then add GST (and FX for USD bills).
  • Take an independent backup; test a restore on staging if you can.
  • Confirm support channels and what they will not fix (theme/plugin code).
  • After any move: test forms, login, and a checkout if you sell online.

Hosting plan finder FAQ

What is the difference between shared hosting and a VPS?

Shared hosting places many sites on one server account environment — cheaper, but neighbours and CPU caps can affect you. A VPS or cloud instance gives reserved resources and more control, with more responsibility for the stack unless you buy managed cloud. Choose by who can fix problems at 11pm, not only by visitor guesses.

Why is Hostinger ₹69 or ₹139/mo not my real yearly cost?

Those figures are introductory rates on a long prepaid term (often 48 months) shown on Hostinger India pricing. Published renewals are higher — for example Premium renews at ₹449/mo on the public page checked 23 Oct 2026. Always multiply renewal × 12, add GST, and compare year two before celebrating the intro price.

Do Indian hosting prices include GST?

Usually not in the headline. GST (commonly 18% on digital services) is typically added at checkout. Cloudways bills in USD, so Indian cards may also see forex. Treat every ₹ figure on this page as a planning estimate and verify the cart total.

What does an uptime SLA actually mean?

An uptime SLA is a contractual credit formula (for example a percentage credit of that month’s fee when conditions are met). It is not independently measured uptime, not insurance for lost sales, and not a promise that every outage is covered. Read exclusions, claim windows and measurement method on the provider’s agreement.

How should I think about backups?

Ask what is backed up, how often, how many restore points, whether restores are self-serve, and whether there is a fee or limit. Take an independent backup before any migration. A host backup you have never restored is only a hope.

What about Indian support hours?

Ask which channels are included (chat, ticket, phone), typical response windows for India daytime, and whether support covers WordPress plugin conflicts or only server/panel issues. “24/7” marketing is not the same as hands-on application repair. Confirm before you buy.

When is shared hosting enough vs when do I need VPS or managed cloud?

Shared is often enough for brochure sites, blogs and light WordPress under modest traffic when you can update plugins safely and backups restore. Move toward VPS or managed cloud when you hit documented resource limits, need isolation, run a busy store with logged-in users, or need the host to own more of the stack.

Is this a lab test or ranking of hosts?

No. ScaleSaathi Editorial publishes a rule-based shortlist from your answers plus dated public pricing. We do not invent uptime percentages or invented lab-test scores. Verify features, renewals and GST at each vendor’s checkout.
