Vyapar vs myBillBook (2026): Price, E-way Bill and CA Access Compared

Last updated 30 October 2026

Most shop owners who ask me to choose between Vyapar and myBillBook have already used both apps for a day and liked both. The invoices look fine on each. What separates them shows up later: when your first e-way bill is due, when your accountant asks for the data at year end, or when the person billing at the counter wants a PC instead of a phone.

Before you pay for either billing app

₹4,099 + GSTVyapar Gold, desktop only, a year ₹3,990myBillBook Pro, a year about ₹6,840myBillBook Pro Max, a year
  • E-way bills decide it. Vyapar Silver includes 10 e-way bills a month and Gold unlimited; myBillBook has them only on Pro Max. For a trader moving goods daily, Vyapar Gold is about ₹2,700 a year cheaper.
  • Your CA’s login. myBillBook includes a CA login on every plan; on Vyapar, accountant access sits on Platinum (₹833 a month billed yearly + GST).
  • One device type per plan. Vyapar prices desktop-only, mobile-only and desktop + mobile plans separately. Desktop + Mobile Gold is ₹4,799 a year + GST.
  • No auto-renew on Vyapar. Diary the expiry date yourself.
  • GST on the bill. Vyapar Gold desktop comes to ₹4,836.82 with GST; myBillBook’s page does not say whether GST is included, so ask before paying.
  • Refund window. Both give about 7 days (Vyapar: 100% refund within 7 days; myBillBook: 7-day money-back), so use them on ten real invoices and compare the GSTR-1 summary with what your CA filed.

Our verdict: if you move goods worth more than ₹50,000 in a consignment and need e-way bills, or you bill mainly from a counter PC, Vyapar Gold is the better buy: unlimited e-way bills and e-invoicing in a ₹4,099-a-year desktop-only plan, and it works offline. If you bill from a phone, want one subscription that runs on Android, iPhone and web, and want your accountant to log in from day one, myBillBook Plus or Pro (₹3,490 or ₹3,990 a year) is simpler. myBillBook only includes e-way bills and e-invoicing on Pro Max, which starts at about ₹6,840 a year.

Bar chart of the yearly price of the cheapest plan for each need: one Android phone ₹699 on Vyapar vs ₹3,490 on myBillBook, desktop billing ₹4,099 vs ₹3,990, e-way bills ₹4,099 vs about ₹6,840; Vyapar prices are before 18% GST

Both sites show every price against a much higher crossed-out figure (Vyapar Gold desktop ₹7,699, myBillBook Plus ₹4,833). Treat the discount as a first-year offer until the vendor tells you in writing what renewal costs. If they will not say, budget the higher figure for year two.

The GST work decides it, not the invoice design

Both apps make a proper GST invoice with HSN codes and tax split into CGST, SGST or IGST. That is the easy part. Ask yourself three questions instead.

Do you need e-way bills?

If you send goods worth more than ₹50,000 in one consignment, an e-way bill is generated on the e-way bill portal before the goods move. Traders, distributors and small manufacturers hit this within months. Vyapar Silver covers 10 a month, enough for a shop that sends one bulk order every few days. A distributor dispatching daily needs Gold, which has no cap. On myBillBook you need Pro Max. For a wholesaler, that makes Vyapar about ₹2,700 a year cheaper (₹4,099 against about ₹6,840), and it is the most common reason I see people regret buying the cheaper myBillBook plan.

Will you cross ₹5 crore turnover?

Once your aggregate turnover crosses ₹5 crore in any year, B2B invoices have to be reported on the e-invoice portal to get an IRN and QR code. Both apps support this, but only on Vyapar Gold and above, and myBillBook Pro Max. If you are near that line, price the higher plan now, not after the notice. An invoice issued without an IRN when one was required is not a valid tax invoice, and your buyer cannot take input tax credit on it, which is how most owners find out.

How will your accountant get the data?

This is where myBillBook quietly wins for small owners. Every plan includes a separate login for your CA, so your accountant can pull sales registers and GSTR-1 data without asking you for your phone or an Excel export. On Vyapar, accountant access is listed on Platinum; on Silver and Gold desktop you export to Tally or share reports. What I actually need from a client each month is a sales register, a purchase register and the GSTR-1 summary, by the 5th. Ask your CA which route they prefer before you buy, and count the saved back-and-forth as part of the price.

Offline or cloud: where your bills live

Vyapar’s desktop app keeps your data on the PC and keeps billing when the internet drops; its POS page describes it as “Offline & Cloud”, with sync across devices on paid plans. The catch is the flip side of offline: if the counter PC dies and you never set up a backup, the year’s bills go with it. Turn on the backup on day one and test a restore once.

myBillBook is built the other way round. Its plans “auto sync data across unlimited devices” on Android, iOS and web, so a lost phone costs you nothing. Its pricing page does not say how much works without a connection, so if your shop has patchy signal, try a bill in flight mode during the trial before you pay.

At the counter: barcode, thermal printer and payment reminders

For a retail counter, the printer and scanner matter more than the invoice theme. Vyapar’s POS page lists USB and Bluetooth barcode scanners, 2-, 3- and 4-inch thermal printers, cash drawers and weighing-scale links. myBillBook Plus prints and scans barcodes on an A4 printer; printing barcode labels on a label printer needs Pro, which also adds unlimited godowns. Buy the printer after you pick the app, not before.

The feature that actually brings money in is the udhaar reminder. Vyapar lists automated payment reminders and WhatsApp Connect on its desktop plans. myBillBook Pro includes 500 SMS and WhatsApp messages a year, which a kirana with 40 credit customers will use up in about three months of weekly reminders. Check that the message carries your shop’s name and a UPI link, because customers pay the reminder they can tap.

One more counter detail: Vyapar lists “remove advertisement on invoices” as a paid feature, so bills from the free version carry Vyapar’s branding. Fine for a trial, not for invoices you send to a distributor.

Who should pick which

Pick Vyapar if

  • You bill at a counter PC and the internet drops. Vyapar says its software works offline and stores data locally.
  • You are a trader or distributor who needs e-way bills on a small budget (Silver for up to 10 a month, Gold desktop at ₹4,099 a year + GST for unlimited).
  • You run up to 5 firms, for example a shop and a separate wholesale business, from one licence (Gold).
  • You only need billing on one Android phone. Mobile Silver at ₹699 a year + GST is the cheapest paid option on this page.

Pick myBillBook if

  • You and your accountant both need access and you do not want to pay for a top plan to get it.
  • You switch between phone, iPhone, laptop browser and a desktop, and want one plan that covers them (Pro).
  • You sell goods mostly within your city, under the e-way bill limit, and below ₹5 crore turnover, so Plus or Pro covers your GST needs.
  • You want a simple online store page and barcode printing included on the cheapest plan (Plus).

Look at something else if

You need full books of accounts with bank reconciliation, depreciation and audit-ready reports for a CA to finalise in-house. Billing apps can get you there for a small business, but many firms still use TallyPrime or BUSY for that. See Tally vs BUSY.

Things to check before you pay

  • Vyapar plans are per device type. A mobile plan does not cover your PC, and a desktop-only plan does not cover your phone. Buy Desktop + Mobile (Gold ₹4,799 a year + GST) if you need both, and confirm how many devices one licence covers.
  • Vyapar does not auto-renew. Its terms say you renew by hand. Put the expiry date in your calendar so billing does not stop on a busy day.
  • myBillBook’s “starts at” prices are yearly. ₹291 a month is only if you pay ₹3,490 for the year. Billed monthly, Plus is ₹349 and Pro ₹399, so monthly billing costs about ₹700 to ₹800 more over a year.
  • GST on the subscription. Vyapar adds 18%, so Gold desktop is ₹4,836.82 with GST. myBillBook does not say. If you are GST-registered, ask both for a tax invoice with your GSTIN so you can claim input tax credit.
  • Get your data out before you switch. Export the item list, party list with GSTINs and opening balances, and run one month’s GSTR-1 summary in the new app before you stop using the old one.

Moving your items and parties across

Items and parties move easily: export them from the old app to Excel and import them into the new one. Opening balances, half-paid bills and stock values are where switches go wrong. Switch on 1 April if you can, carry over only closing balances that your CA has signed off, and keep the old app’s data exported as Excel and PDF for the 72 months after the annual return due date that GST law asks you to keep records. If you must switch mid-year, file the month’s GSTR-1 from the old app first so no invoice is reported twice.

A one-hour test with your own bills

Take ten real invoices from last month, including one with a discount, one inter-state sale and one return. Enter them in both free trials. Then print the GSTR-1 summary from each and check it against what your CA filed. The app whose summary matches without fixing anything is the one to buy.
