TallyPrime Price in India: Silver, Gold, Rental and Lifetime (2026)

The Tally Prime price in India starts at ₹750 for one month of Silver rental, before 18% GST. A new Silver lifetime licence is ₹22,500 before GST; Gold lifetime is ₹67,500. The two decisions are separate: Silver or Gold determines concurrent access, while rental or lifetime determines how you pay. Check the official India purchase options.

Last updated: 25 October 2026 · . Prices checked on 25 October 2026 on Tally Solutions’ buy page. Prices are before 18% GST unless a column says otherwise.

For a realistic budget, also separate the licence from Tally Software Services (TSS), cloud access and setup work. A lifetime licence is not a promise of free updates, online services or hosting forever. This guide shows the cash payment, the renewal obligation and the point at which a longer commitment may make sense.

This guide is based on Tally’s published prices and documentation. Calculations are our own. Confirm your checkout price, any partner discount, your licence eligibility and support terms before paying; future renewal prices can change.

Tally Prime price in India: Silver and Gold

These are the published India licence options, not overseas prices or an assumed reseller discount. GST-inclusive figures below are calculated using the 18% shown by Tally. Rental amounts cover the whole stated period; a monthly equivalent on an annual plan is not a monthly instalment. Official plan prices.

TallyPrime Silver — single user

1 month: ₹750 + ₹135 GST = ₹885.

3 months: published price ₹2,138 before GST; approximately ₹2,523 including GST.

12 months: ₹8,100 + ₹1,458 GST = ₹9,558 paid for the year.

Lifetime: ₹22,500 + ₹4,050 GST = ₹26,550 for the licence.

TallyPrime Gold — multi-user

1 month: ₹2,250 + ₹405 GST = ₹2,655.

3 months: published price ₹6,413 before GST; approximately ₹7,567 including GST.

12 months: ₹24,300 + ₹4,374 GST = ₹28,674 paid for the year.

Lifetime: ₹67,500 + ₹12,150 GST = ₹79,650 for the licence.

Quarterly rounding note: Tally displays the three-month prices rounded to whole rupees, alongside monthly equivalents that imply half-rupee differences. We use the displayed term amounts and round the tax-inclusive article examples. The invoice—not multiplication of a rounded marketing figure—settles the exact payable amount. The calculator exposes these inputs for correction.

The annual rental rates are presented with a discount on the official page. Treat that as the current published offer, not a guaranteed price for every future year. No early-renewal bonus, upgrade credit or negotiated discount is assumed in our baseline.

Silver lifetime licence: ₹22,500 plus ₹4,050 GST totals ₹26,550, including the first year of TSS
Calculated using Tally’s ₹22,500 India Silver licence price and displayed 18% GST. First-year TSS is included; later renewals and optional services are separate.

Silver vs Gold: choose concurrent access

Tally describes Silver as one user working on one system at a time. Gold permits multiple users working simultaneously on the same data within a local area network, or LAN. The important difference is concurrent access, not an automatic upgrade to a different accounting feature tier. Read the licence overview and Tally’s edition explanation.

For example, one bookkeeper entering transactions while the owner receives exported reports may have a single-user workflow. A billing operator and an accounts assistant entering different transactions at the same time have a concurrency requirement to demonstrate before purchase. These are illustrative workflows, not proof that a particular installation is correctly licensed.

Do not interpret “multi-user” as unlimited sharing across offices, unrelated businesses or arbitrary remote connections. Tally’s licensing guidance limits the standard Gold arrangement to a local network at one business location and addresses virtual access separately. Ask the vendor to document the arrangement for your actual locations and users. Check local-network and remote-use rules.

A quotation may also mention TallyPrime Server. This is a separate product/deployment, not another name for the ordinary Gold licence. Ask why it is needed and have its price itemised rather than adding it automatically to every multi-user purchase. TallyHelp explains the separate Server deployment.

Monthly, quarterly or annual rental?

Annual rental reduces the equivalent monthly charge but increases the upfront commitment. Silver’s ₹8,100 annual rental works out to ₹675 per month before GST. Gold’s ₹24,300 annual rental works out to ₹2,025 per month before GST. Both are paid as twelve-month terms, not twelve payments at those equivalent rates.

Silver: twelve monthly payments vs one annual term

Twelve payments at ₹750: ₹9,000 before GST.

One twelve-month term: ₹8,100 before GST.

Calculated saving: ₹900 before GST, or ₹1,062 including 18% GST.

Gold: twelve monthly payments vs one annual term

Twelve payments at ₹2,250: ₹27,000 before GST.

One twelve-month term: ₹24,300 before GST.

Calculated saving: ₹2,700 before GST, or ₹3,186 including 18% GST.

These comparisons assume unchanged prices for twelve months and exclude extras. For a short project, compare the amount paid for the period you need instead of choosing the lowest monthly equivalent. A three-month term can cover a quarter; it is not automatically economical for a job lasting one month.

Use the workbook’s Billing sheet to see the effect of whole prepaid terms. A thirteen-month need billed only in twelve-month blocks requires two purchases in that scenario. The calculator deliberately does not invent a mixed-term offer or credit for unused time; ask for the available combination before committing.

What lifetime actually includes

A lifetime or perpetual purchase gives continuing use of the licensed product under its licence terms. Tally’s documentation includes the first twelve months of TSS with a new regular licence; subsequent TSS periods are separately renewable. Rental includes TSS for the rental duration. Official regular and rental licence terms.

That makes two different expiry events easy to confuse. Rental expiry ends the paid rental period and can put the software into Educational Mode. TSS expiry on a perpetual licence concerns entitlement to newer releases and connected services; it is not the same as losing the purchased licence.

Do not assume that every newly downloaded release will work with expired TSS. TallyHelp documents the “licence invalid in this release” condition when the TSS validity predates that release. Keep a compatible release, preserve backups and check the renewal required for the functionality you need. See TallyHelp’s expiry and compatibility guidance.

Rental renewal extends paid software use; TSS renewal maintains update and connected-service entitlements on a perpetual licence
Expired rental and expired TSS are different events. Keep a compatible release and confirm the services and validity needed.

TSS renewal costs

TSS covers product upgrades and connected services, including supported GST and banking workflows. This is why an organisation that relies on current integrations should budget for it separately from ownership of a perpetual licence. TSS scope and current renewal listings.

Silver TSS

One year: ₹4,500 + ₹810 GST = ₹5,310.

Two years: ₹8,100 + ₹1,458 GST = ₹9,558.

The two-year base price is ₹4,050 per year equivalent, paid for two years together.

Gold TSS

One year: ₹13,500 + ₹2,430 GST = ₹15,930.

Two years: ₹24,300 + ₹4,374 GST = ₹28,674.

The two-year base price is ₹12,150 per year equivalent, paid for two years together.

Tally advertises the two-year TSS option as a discounted renewal. Cross-check the amount and validity in the customer hub. Do not add a separate year-one TSS charge to a new perpetual licence when its first year is already included, and do not charge yourself TSS twice during an active rental term.

Notice the naming trap: ₹8,100 can mean twelve months of Silver rental or two years of Silver TSS. They are not interchangeable purchases. One provides time-limited software use; the other renews services attached to an existing eligible licence.

Rental vs lifetime over three to six years

A useful Tally Prime price comparison keeps service coverage consistent. Our baseline compares repeated twelve-month rental with a new perpetual licence plus one-year TSS renewals from year two. Prices and 18% GST are held constant; cloud access, setup, interest, tax credits and promotional bonus months are excluded.

Three years: lower initial outlay still matters

Silver rental: ₹8,100 × 3 = ₹24,300 before GST; ₹28,674 including GST.

Silver lifetime + two TSS renewals: ₹22,500 + ₹4,500 × 2 = ₹31,500 before GST; ₹37,170 including GST.

Rental has ₹8,496 less cash outlay over this period under the stated assumptions.

Five years: the baseline reaches equality

Silver rental: ₹8,100 × 5 = ₹40,500 before GST.

Silver lifetime + four TSS renewals: ₹22,500 + ₹4,500 × 4 = ₹40,500 before GST.

Both total ₹47,790 including GST. Gold follows the same pattern at three times these baseline amounts.

At six years, Silver annual rental totals ₹48,600 before GST, compared with ₹45,000 for the perpetual licence plus five one-year TSS renewals. The difference is ₹3,600 before GST, or ₹4,248 including GST. This is a simple cumulative cash comparison, not a guarantee that lifetime is best for every business.

Five-year Silver comparison before GST: annual rental ₹40,500; lifetime plus yearly TSS ₹40,500; lifetime plus two-year TSS ₹38,700
Unchanged published rates, new licence with first-year TSS included, continuous use, no extras or bonus months. Totals exclude GST; this is not a future-price promise.

Using two-year TSS renewals changes the result. Buying Silver lifetime and two two-year TSS renewals to cover years two through five costs ₹22,500 + ₹8,100 + ₹8,100 = ₹38,700 before GST, or ₹45,666 including GST. That is ₹2,124 below five annual rentals, assuming the same published prices remain available.

The timing also matters: a two-year TSS purchase is paid at the start of its term. The workbook models that cash payment rather than silently spreading it across years. At a shorter comparison horizon, some purchased validity can extend beyond the period shown.

Do not use a perpetual licence with no TSS renewals as an equivalent comparison if the alternative includes current releases and connected workflows you rely on. It is a different service assumption. Similarly, future rental or TSS price changes can move the crossover point.

Costs outside the licence

Cloud access and virtual working

TallyPrime Cloud Access is advertised from ₹600 per user per month; the licence and access service are separate budget lines. The actual tier, term and user capacity affect the quotation. Do not multiply the headline by an arbitrary headcount and assume it is a confirmed plan. Cloud Access scope; licence and optional-cost explanation.

Browser access to reports, remote access to a locally hosted installation and cloud-hosted application access are not identical services. Ask which one the quote supplies, who keeps the host available and what backup and recovery arrangements apply.

Messaging, add-ons and implementation

The customer hub lists WhatsApp subscription renewal at ₹1,300 per year before GST, with messaging-wallet credit separate. That is an optional service—not an amount that every Silver or Gold purchaser must pay. Other integrations and plug-ins should likewise be identified separately. Review optional subscriptions and wallet charges.

Request a written scope for migration, opening balances, training, on-site visits, custom invoice designs and support. Do not assume a licence purchase pays an accountant to maintain the books. Equally, do not add an invented “mandatory installation fee” to a published software price when no such quote has been supplied.

For an ordinary local deployment, allow for a suitable computer, network where needed, backup storage and someone responsible for recovery. Before choosing by price alone, use our accounting software selection checklist to define the workflow and handover.

Already using Tally? Check before buying again

Existing users should identify their serial number, edition, regular/rental status and TSS validity before purchasing. The correct transaction might be a TSS renewal, rental extension, Silver-to-Gold upgrade or rental-to-perpetual conversion—not another complete licence.

Tally’s customer hub presents upgrade routes and eligibility conditions. Obtain the amount for your actual serial number; a published headline or previous invoice does not prove today’s personal upgrade benefit. We have not applied any upgrade discount to the calculator.

After an eligible renewal or edition change, TallyHelp instructs users to update their licence so the change is reflected in the application. That is a licence-management step, not a reason to rebuild the company accounts. Keep a backup before a separate software upgrade or data migration. Read the licence-update guidance.

Trial, expiry and cancellation

Tally advertises a seven-day trial on its current GST product page. Use it to check the exact records and access you need rather than entering live filings merely to explore features. Official trial information.

Educational Mode is not an unrestricted free business edition. Tally’s licensing guidance limits voucher creation dates and excludes connected services. It may help with learning, but it should not be budgeted as a permanent replacement for a paid production licence. Educational Mode restrictions.

The auto-renewal FAQ says cancellation stops a future renewal rather than refunding the active subscription period. It also says updated pricing applies at future renewals and describes no grace period after a failed payment. Record the renewal date and review the mandate before buying a longer term.

Tally’s commercial terms address discretionary returns separately. Do not interpret that as a blanket money-back promise. Get any partner cancellation or refund commitment in writing before payment, particularly where implementation services are bundled.

What a complete quotation should show

Ask for the quote to distinguish five items: licence edition and term; included TSS validity; optional access/add-ons; professional work; and GST with the final amount due. Also ask which items recur and when. A single “Tally package” total is difficult to compare or renew.

Confirm the legal billing name, the applicable India licence, user locations and who controls the account and recovery email. For overseas users, have Tally confirm the correct country licence instead of assuming that India prices apply everywhere. The purchase selector and licence-error documentation both distinguish country-specific use. Licence-country options; country-licence restrictions.

Compare tax-inclusive cash payments for budgeting. Whether GST can later be claimed as input tax credit is a separate eligibility question for your accountant; the calculator does not automatically subtract it. Implementation and other services may have their own tax treatment, so optional-cost inputs use the final amounts from your quote.

How to use the cost planner

The workbook contains Start Here, Rates, Billing, Ownership, Your Budget and Sources. Blue input cells are editable. The Rates sheet holds the published amounts and source links; formulas use those cells rather than hidden prices. Replace the quarterly amount with the precise quote when necessary.

In Billing, enter the number of months needed. Each scenario buys whole one-, three- or twelve-month periods, exposing paid-for months beyond your requirement. In Ownership, compare the cumulative annual-rental, perpetual-plus-annual-TSS and perpetual-plus-two-year-TSS paths. The workbook assumes continuous use and unchanged rates.

In Your Budget, choose Silver or Gold, a payment route and a whole-year horizon. Enter tax-inclusive optional setup, annual service and monthly access amounts from your quote. The displayed first-year and horizon totals include those optional costs; the core-software lines keep them separate.

This is a budgeting tool, not a binding vendor quotation, a licence-compliance checker or an accounting-depreciation model. It does not contact Tally, forecast price increases, verify a partner or calculate tax-credit eligibility.

What users commonly report

These themes summarise public reviews of TallyPrime on sites such as Capterra, Software Advice and related directory listings, plus remote-work discussion on Reddit. They are paraphrased and India-focused where the sources allow.

  • Books and GST basics feel familiar: reviewers commonly praise day-to-day entries, GST reconciliation and reports once they know the shortcuts.
  • Accountant ecosystem is a plus: strong familiarity among Indian CAs and bookkeepers makes hiring and handover easier.
  • Licence value for small firms: single desktop or small multi-user setups are often seen as good value for the core accounting work.
  • Still desktop-first: many reviewers want stronger anywhere access; remote use needs Cloud Access, Virtual User or similar rather than a pure browser product.
  • Support and licence friction: repetitive helpline steps and activation headaches appear in a minority of strongly negative reviews.
  • Large data and integrations: some users report slow performance on big company files, and weaker built-in e-commerce or multi-GSTIN convenience than newer cloud tools.

Which option should you choose?

Choose Silver rental when one user is enough and you are still proving the workflow or protecting cash. Choose a twelve-month term only after the commitment is justified. Consider Silver lifetime when the workflow is established, you can afford the upfront cost and you have included the TSS service level you need.

Choose Gold because several authorised people need concurrent access in a supported setup—not just because the company is growing. Confirm separate locations and remote working before deciding what “multi-user” will cost.

Existing users should obtain the correct renewal or upgrade quote first. People who only need occasional billing should also compare our free accounting and invoicing options. For the broader shortlist, see accounting and invoicing software for small businesses.

The sensible Tally Prime price is the price of the correct licence, the services you actually need and a workable accountant handover. Separate those decisions before paying, and keep the quote for the next renewal review.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Tally Prime price for a single user in India?

Silver is ₹750 for one month, ₹2,138 as the displayed three-month price, ₹8,100 for twelve months, or ₹22,500 for a perpetual licence, before 18% GST. Confirm the exact quarterly rounding and current checkout.

What is the Gold multi-user price?

Gold is ₹2,250 for one month, ₹6,413 as the displayed three-month price, ₹24,300 for twelve months, or ₹67,500 for a perpetual licence before GST. Standard multi-user access is for a supported local-network arrangement, not unlimited cross-location sharing.

Does lifetime TallyPrime mean no future charges?

No. A new perpetual licence includes one year of TSS, but future TSS renewal, optional cloud access, paid add-ons and professional services can cost extra. Continuing licence use and eligibility for new releases or connected services are different matters.

Is TSS charged separately on a rental plan?

TSS is valid for the rental duration. Do not add a second TSS subscription to the same active rental period in a budget without a clearly explained reason from the vendor.

What happens when rental expires?

TallyHelp says an expired rental licence can switch to Educational Mode, which restricts use. Renew the rental or confirm the appropriate regular-licence conversion rather than treating expired rental as full ongoing access.

How much is annual TSS renewal?

The published one-year amounts are ₹4,500 for Silver and ₹13,500 for Gold before GST. At 18%, the totals are ₹5,310 and ₹15,930 respectively. New perpetual licences already include their first year.

When does lifetime become cheaper than rental?

There is no universal payback date. At the guide’s unchanged prices, annual rental and lifetime with yearly TSS renewal from year two have equal core-software cost at five years. Two-year TSS purchases, price changes, discounts, financing and extras can change the result.

Does Gold include cloud hosting?

A multi-user licence does not itself establish cloud hosting. TallyPrime Cloud Access and other remote setups need their own scope, term, user-capacity and licence check. Ask for the software and access charges separately.

Can I cancel rental and receive the unused period back?

Tally’s auto-renewal FAQ says subscription cancellation stops a future renewal and the current period is non-refundable. Commercial terms discuss discretionary returns separately; do not assume a pro-rata refund unless expressly agreed.

Is the calculator a quote from Tally?

No. It is a local Excel budget using editable published-rate inputs. It assumes unchanged rates, continuous use and the stated billing periods. It cannot confirm discounts, statutory eligibility, support quality or an account-specific checkout.

What is the TallyPrime Silver price with GST?

The Silver lifetime licence is ₹22,500 + 18% GST (₹4,050) = ₹26,550. The 12-month Silver rental is ₹8,100 + GST = ₹9,558. Prices checked on 25 October 2026.

What is the TallyPrime Gold price with GST?

The Gold lifetime licence is ₹67,500 + 18% GST (₹12,150) = ₹79,650. The 12-month Gold rental is ₹24,300 + GST = ₹28,674.

How much does it cost to upgrade from Silver to Gold?

Tally lists the Silver to Gold upgrade at ₹45,000 + 18% GST = ₹53,100.

How much does Tally Prime cost over 5 years with GST?

For a single user (Silver), a lifetime licence costs ₹22,500 + 18% GST, and the first year of TSS is included. Renewing TSS at ₹4,500 + GST in years 2–5 brings the total to ₹40,500 before GST, or ₹47,790 with GST. That is the same as five years of 12-month Silver rental at ₹8,100 + GST a year. Gold costs exactly three times these amounts: ₹1,21,500 before GST, or ₹1,43,370 with GST. If you are GST-registered and eligible, you can claim the 18% as input tax credit. Prices are from tallysolutions.com, checked 31 Oct 2026.
