Is Hostinger Worth It for Small Businesses in India?

This Hostinger India review finds a reasonable fit for a small business website when the owner wants a packaged hosting service, can afford the upfront term and has someone responsible for WordPress maintenance. The decision depends on the plan: a site that changes occasionally and a store accepting orders need different recovery arrangements.

Our verdict: compare Premium for a modest brochure site and Unlimited when daily backups and additional capacity solve a real need. Consider Cloud Startup after identifying a resource requirement. Do not let a low monthly-looking price decide a four-year purchase.

Before you buy Hostinger

  • Verdict: it’s a good fit if you want packaged hosting and someone is actually maintaining WordPress. Look at Premium for a simple brochure site and Unlimited only if daily backups solve a real problem for you.
  • What you pay (48-month offer on Hostinger’s India page, before tax): Premium ₹139/month = ₹6,672 upfront, renews at ₹449/month. Unlimited ₹199/month = ₹9,552 upfront, renews at ₹649/month. Add 18% GST to both.
  • The trap is that small monthly figure. It’s four years paid on day one, and the renewal rate is much higher (₹449 vs ₹139 a month on Premium). If your idea is still untested, compare a shorter term.
  • Running a store? Publishing staging replaces your live files and database, so any orders that came in after the copy was made can be lost.

Is Hostinger worth it for your small business?

Hostinger deserves a place on your shortlist if you want to run a straightforward business site or WordPress publication and can follow a maintenance checklist. Its appeal is the combination of plan features and an accessible entry payment—not a guarantee that every website will be fast or easy to maintain.

It is a less comfortable choice when your budget depends on the advertised rate continuing indefinitely, you need a specific support channel that has not been confirmed, or your custom application requires capabilities outside the selected plan.

If you are still deciding what hosting you need, start with our web hosting selection guide for India. For a wider shortlist, see the small-business hosting comparison.

Match a brochure site, a regularly updated publication or a store to its maintenance, recovery and workload needs before choosing a Hostinger plan.
Start with the work and data your website creates. Then compare the plan.

Which Hostinger plan is worth comparing?

The following displayed offers use 48-month prepayment. Figures are hosting charges shown on the India page; confirm applicable tax, optional extras, the final checkout total and the renewal term. Official Hostinger plans

Single: the cheapest door, with a narrow room behind it

Displayed offer: ₹69/month equivalent; ₹3,312 upfront for 48 months; listed renewal ₹289/month. The plan shows one website, 10 GB SSD storage, weekly backups and one free mailbox.

Our assessment: fine for a one-page profile or a test site you could rebuild in an afternoon. Hostinger’s own plan limits table gives Single 1 CPU core, 1 GB RAM, 2 databases and 100 GB bandwidth, against unlimited bandwidth on Premium. A WordPress site with a page builder, a contact form plugin and a few product pages will feel that ceiling quickly.

Buy only if: the site is genuinely small and you accept moving up a tier, at a new price, once it starts earning.

Premium: a modest site with a workable backup routine

Displayed offer: ₹139/month equivalent; ₹6,672 upfront for 48 months; listed renewal ₹449/month. The plan shows three websites, 20 GB SSD storage, weekly backups, a free domain for the first year and two mailboxes per website free for the first year.

Our assessment: a candidate for a portfolio, local-service business or brochure site that changes infrequently. Ask how you will protect work made between scheduled backups. A weekly copy is a poor match if you cannot reconstruct the changes made since it was created.

Buy only if: the site allowances fit and the owner or developer has a reliable backup-and-restore routine.

Unlimited: useful when daily recovery copies matter

Displayed offer: ₹199/month equivalent; ₹9,552 upfront for 48 months; listed renewal ₹649/month. The plan shows unlimited websites, 50 GB NVMe storage, daily backups with restore, CDN and a free domain for the first year.

Our assessment: a more relevant comparison for a regularly updated publication or business site where weekly backups leave too much work exposed. The additional site allowance is useful only within the account’s resource limits.

Buy only if: the backup schedule and capacity justify the higher bill. For a busy store, also establish how to preserve orders placed after the latest backup.

Cloud Startup: assess the workload before upgrading

Displayed offer: ₹599/month equivalent; ₹28,752 upfront for 48 months; listed renewal ₹1,599/month. The plan shows 100 GB NVMe storage and daily plus on-demand backups.

Our assessment: worth investigating when you can identify a resource constraint or a specific project requirement. A new business does not automatically need this tier because its website is commercially important.

Buy only if: the host and developer can explain what improves for your actual site and why a lower tier is insufficient.

Hostinger Unlimited displayed offer: ₹249 monthly equivalent multiplied by 48 months equals ₹11,952 upfront; listed renewal reference is ₹649 per month.

Worked example at the earlier ₹249 offer. On 31 October 2026 the India page shows Unlimited at ₹199 a month, ₹9,552 upfront for 48 months, renewing at ₹649 a month.

The renewal changes the value calculation

For Unlimited, ₹199 × 48 = ₹9,552 explains the advertised initial hosting payment. The displayed renewal reference is ₹649/month, not a promise to keep renewing at the introductory price. Neither monthly figure establishes that Hostinger will collect one month at a time.

Write down three amounts before payment: the final invoice now, the quoted renewal total for the selected term, and services that become separately chargeable later. Domain and email offers may have their own introductory periods; obtain the terms for the exact bundle you are buying.

Do not spread a four-year payment into a monthly budget and forget the cash leaving your account today. If the website is still an experiment, compare a shorter commitment even when its monthly equivalent is higher. Our hosting cost guide explains how to compare terms consistently.

What each term really costs, with GST and the renewal

The Hostinger India plans page shows the 48-month deal and the rate it renews at “for the same term”. This is the part most buyers skip, so here is the arithmetic for the four plans a small business actually looks at, before and after 18% GST:

Plan48 months upfrontWith 18% GSTRenews atNext 48 months at renewal rate
Single₹3,312₹3,908₹289/month₹13,872
Premium₹6,672₹7,873₹449/month₹21,552
Unlimited₹9,552₹11,271₹649/month₹31,152
Cloud Startup₹28,752₹33,927₹1,599/month₹76,752

Put plainly: an Unlimited site that costs about ₹11,300 today will cost roughly three times that for the next four years unless a fresh offer applies. The renewal is still cheap by Indian hosting standards; it is just not the number on the banner.

Shorter terms cost more per month. VGraple’s Hostinger India price page reports these monthly rates (as reported, 31 October 2026; the term switch on Hostinger’s page loads by script):

Plan1 month12 months24 months48 months
Single₹399₹159₹119₹69
Premium₹679₹199₹169₹139
Unlimited₹799₹299₹249₹199
Cloud Startup₹1,699₹799₹699₹599

For a business that is still finding its feet, a 12-month Premium term at about ₹2,388 before GST is a reasonable way to buy a year of evidence before committing four years of cash.

Getting a GST invoice you can claim

If you are GST-registered, add your GSTIN before you pay. Hostinger’s tax code guide lets you tick “Add company details” at checkout and enter the GST code; you can also add it later under Account Information, but only future invoices change. Its invoice help page confirms that GST invoices are issued for India and that issued invoices cannot be edited. Your accountant will ask for this on the first renewal, so it is worth two minutes at checkout.

The strengths that matter in practice

India is an available server region

Hostinger’s location documentation lists India for web and cloud hosting. The final choices depend on what is available in hPanel during setup or transfer. Confirm the region for your order before relying on it. The same page notes that Hostinger Mail mailboxes sit in France and Germany, separate from the hosting server, which matters if a client asks where business email data is kept.

This makes Hostinger a relevant option for an India-focused site. It does not prove that the selected plan will perform well with your theme, plugins and customer traffic. Check representative pages from the regions where your customers are.

Useful operating tasks are documented

The support material explains where to inspect hosting limits in hPanel and how eligible accounts create a WordPress staging copy. This gives an owner and developer a common place to review the setup. It is evidence that the tools exist, not a hands-on ease-of-use score.

Ask the person maintaining your site to demonstrate the tasks you will need: finding a backup, checking resource usage and identifying who controls the hosting account. A feature has little value if nobody knows when or how to use it.

Moving an existing site is included

The India plans page lists free automatic website migration on every web hosting plan, requested from hPanel after you buy. For a WordPress brochure site this usually goes smoothly. For a store, schedule the move for a quiet hour, pause orders, and check payment gateway callbacks and email delivery on the new server before switching DNS back to normal TTLs.

Higher tiers provide a different recovery starting point

Daily rather than weekly backups can reduce the gap between available recovery copies. That is a practical reason to compare tiers for a changing website. Still confirm retention, restore access, any charges and what happens if a scheduled copy fails.

Keep a separate usable backup before major work. WordPress’s backup guidance explains why files and the database both matter. Test restoration into a safe environment before you depend on it during an incident.

The limitations to understand before purchase

“Unlimited” has resource boundaries

Hostinger’s plan-limit documentation lists Unlimited with two CPU cores, 3 GB RAM and 600,000 inodes. These describe the plan, not a fresh allocation for every additional site. More website slots do not create unlimited processing capacity.

If you already have a Business plan, check its actual account details. Hostinger says Business is now offered as Unlimited on most pages while existing Business customers retain their current plan and limits. Do not assume a renamed sales card changes an older subscription.

Use our guide to hosting plan limits if storage, memory and file counts are unfamiliar. Ask for the exact limit that would trigger an upgrade for your workload.

The resource numbers that actually decide stability

When a Hostinger site throws “503 Service temporarily unavailable”, it is nearly always one of these ceilings, not a server outage. Figures from Hostinger’s plan parameters page, seen 31 October 2026:

LimitSinglePremiumUnlimitedCloud Startup
CPU cores1124
RAM1 GB2 GB3 GB4 GB
PHP workers204060100
Inodes (files)200,000400,000600,0002,000,000
Databases210150300
Bandwidth100 GBUnlimitedUnlimitedUnlimited

Two numbers deserve attention for Indian small businesses. Inodes: a WooCommerce store with image thumbnails and a backup plugin storing copies on the same account can burn through 400,000 files faster than owners expect. And server email: every web plan is capped at 10 emails a minute and 100 a day. If your site sends order confirmations, invoices or OTPs, route them through a proper transactional email service instead of relying on the server’s own mail.

Some sales and support details need reconciliation

The public pages do not agree on every entitlement. For example, Cloud Startup’s sales card advertises unlimited websites, while the technical table lists 100. Unlimited’s card promises unlimited mailboxes per website, while the parameters table lists five per website for the free business email trial.

That does not establish what a particular order will receive. Get written confirmation of the site allowance, mailbox entitlement and renewal charges that matter to your purchase. Save it with the order. This review does not select the larger number and present it as a guaranteed inclusion.

Staging needs care around live orders

Hostinger’s staging instructions describe eligibility as Business web hosting or higher. Because plan naming differs across pages, confirm the tool on your selected offer.

The instructions also warn that publishing staging replaces the live files and database. Changes made on the live site since the staging copy was created can be lost. For a store or active publication, agree a deployment method that preserves recent orders and content; do not routinely replace live data with an old test copy.

Support availability is not a resolution guarantee

Hostinger’s contact page directs customers to Hostinger Agent and team chat. Confirm how you reach a person, what the selected plan covers and what happens when the account itself is inaccessible. Every plan card lists priority 24/7 expert support, but the India contact page shows no phone number, so the “Hostinger customer care number” many people search for does not exist as an official line. Treat numbers on third-party sites with suspicion; support happens in chat inside hPanel. If you require phone support, settle that requirement before buying.

Ask a specific question: “If a plugin breaks my booking form, will you investigate it, restore the site or fix the plugin?” Keep a developer available for work outside the support agreement. Our managed WordPress hosting guide explains how to compare the amount of WordPress management you are actually buying.

Uptime and refunds have defined remedies

The hosting agreement sets out a 99.9% monthly service-uptime commitment, exclusions and a claim route for a 5% credit of that month’s hosting fee when its conditions are met. This is a contractual remedy, not independently measured uptime or compensation for all lost business.

The refund policy sets a standard 30-day window for eligible purchases, with product and payment exceptions. Domain renewals are excluded, and .in registrations appear among non-refundable extensions. A bundled free domain can also affect the amount returned. Check your complete cart; the hosting headline is not a promise that every item is refundable.

How we would evaluate Hostinger before relying on it

Use the eligible refund period to complete your own acceptance checks, rather than leaving setup until the window has passed:

  1. Confirm the account. Check the product, region, site allowance, included services and renewal details. Record who owns the login and receives notices.
  2. Build a representative page. Use the theme, images and plugins intended for the business, not only a blank installation.
  3. Check a customer action. Submit an enquiry or place a sandbox test order. Verify the expected record and notification arrive.
  4. Check recovery. Locate the backups and rehearse restoration safely. Establish how recent live data will be protected.
  5. Ask a real support question. Assess whether the answer is specific enough for your team to act on, without treating one interaction as proof of every future response.

Run them inside the first 30 days, while a refund is still possible. WordPress’s performance handbook explains why the hosting environment is only part of the result; configuration, software and media also matter.

Before relying on the new hosting account, confirm the order details, test a real website action, rehearse recovery safely and ask a specific support question.

Four checks to finish inside the 30-day refund window.

Hostinger or GoDaddy, Bluehost and Cloudways?

These are the three names that come up most when Indian owners shortlist hosting. In short: against GoDaddy, Hostinger usually wins on what the entry plan includes for the money; against Bluehost, renewal rates and where the servers sit are the main differences; against Cloudways, you are choosing between a managed panel at a fixed price and pay-as-you-go cloud servers that need more hands-on care. Our side-by-side pages go through each in detail: Hostinger vs GoDaddy, Hostinger vs Bluehost and Hostinger vs Cloudways.

Independent testers tend to agree with the broad picture. Kripesh Adwani’s long-running Hostinger review reports fast response times from the Indian servers for Asian visitors and lists short backup retention as a weakness (as reported, 31 October 2026). How Hostinger stays cheap is no secret: long prepaid terms, shared servers with firm per-account limits, chat-only support and renewals priced well above the launch offer.

Our final buying recommendation

For a modest site, compare Premium against the cost of the backup routine you will actually maintain. For frequent publishing, include Unlimited in the comparison because recovery frequency matters. For a store or a heavier application, get the workload and recovery plan assessed before selecting a tier.

If Hostinger cannot confirm an essential allowance, support requirement or manageable renewal bill, continue comparing. Our Hostinger alternatives guide covers the next shortlist when this service does not fit.

The ScaleSaathi Hosting Plan Finder can help narrow the category first. Once Hostinger is a candidate, use its official plan page and written answers to approve the actual purchase. The value is in the service your business can use and afford throughout the term.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hostinger a sensible choice for a small Indian business?

It can be for a straightforward website when the actual plan allowances, recovery routine and renewal cost fit. Evaluate the site you intend to run and get unresolved inclusions confirmed in writing before the 30-day refund window closes.

Is the advertised monthly price what I pay each month?

The offers in this review require a 48-month upfront payment. The displayed monthly number is its equivalent across the term. Check the actual invoice, optional extras, applicable taxes and the renewal term before paying.

Which Hostinger plan should I compare first?

Compare Premium for a modest site with an adequate recovery routine. Include Unlimited for a more frequently changing site, and assess Cloud Startup when you can identify a resource requirement. A store needs its actual workload and live-data recovery assessed before choosing.

Does Unlimited give every website unlimited resources?

No. Hostinger publishes account resource limits, including processor, memory and file-count allowances. Additional site slots do not create a new unlimited resource allocation for each site. Existing Business subscribers should check their account details instead of assuming a sales-page rename changes their limits.

Can publishing staging remove newer live content?

Yes. Hostinger’s staging instructions say publication replaces the live files and database. Newer live changes can be overwritten. Agree a deployment process that preserves new orders and content before publishing a staging copy.

Does the refund window cover everything in the cart?

No. Eligibility depends on the product and payment terms. Domain renewals and certain domain registrations, including .in, are excluded; a bundled free domain can affect the refund amount. Read the complete policy and finish your acceptance checks within the applicable window.

How much does Hostinger cost per month in India?

On 31 October 2026 the India page shows Single at ₹69, Premium at ₹139, Unlimited at ₹199 and Cloud Startup at ₹599 a month on a 48-month term, paid upfront and before 18% GST. Renewals are ₹289, ₹449, ₹649 and ₹1,599 a month.

Can I get a GST invoice from Hostinger?

Yes. Add your company name and GSTIN at checkout, or later under Account Information. Hostinger issues GST invoices for India, but already issued invoices cannot be changed, so add the GSTIN before paying.

Does Hostinger have servers in India?

Yes. Hostinger lists India as a data centre location for web, cloud and VPS plans. Choose it during setup. Hostinger Mail mailboxes are stored separately in France and Germany.

Is there a Hostinger customer care phone number in India?

The India contact page lists no phone line. Support runs through chat in hPanel, and every plan card advertises 24/7 support. Be careful with phone numbers shown on unofficial sites.

Can Hostinger move my existing website for free?

Yes. Every web hosting plan lists free automatic website migration, requested from hPanel after purchase. For a store, pause orders during the move and check payments and emails before going live.

Is Hostinger better than GoDaddy for an Indian small business?

For most small WordPress sites, Hostinger gives more resources for the entry price and offers an India server region. Compare the renewal prices and support you need; our Hostinger vs GoDaddy comparison goes through both.
