Hostinger vs GoDaddy for Indian Small Businesses (2026)

Last updated 30 October 2026. Prices seen on the official Hostinger and GoDaddy India pages on 28 and 30 October 2026.

Hostinger vs GoDaddy is mostly a question of what you will pay over three years, where your website is served from, and who will look after it. The first-month price on either site tells you very little. Both show prices without GST, both need a long upfront term to get the advertised rate, and only one of them prints its renewal price on the plan card.

Read the renewal line first

  1. On a 12-month term the first bill is identical: ₹2,388 for both. Hostinger Premium for 12 months, then 24 months at ₹449, comes to ₹13,164 over 3 years.
  2. Hostinger Premium is ₹6,672 for 48 months (₹7,873 with GST), then ₹449 a month. A fresh 48-month renewal is ₹21,552 (₹25,431 with GST).
  3. GoDaddy Economy is ₹7,884 for 36 months (₹9,303 with GST), and its renewal price is not printed on the plan card. Ask before you pay.
  4. GoDaddy’s free domain list does not include .in, and each free domain carries an ICANN fee (₹19 per year shown).
  5. GoDaddy Economy’s free SSL renews at a cost after year one. Hostinger Premium’s backups are weekly; GoDaddy lists daily.
  6. GoDaddy’s own page lists data centres in North America and Europe, so ask which region your plan will use. Both offer 30-day money-back.

Our verdict: for most Indian small business websites, start with Hostinger Premium (₹6,672 for 48 months, ₹7,873 with 18% GST) or Unlimited if you need daily backups. It costs less upfront than GoDaddy’s comparable plans, offers India as a server location and publishes its renewal price. Choose GoDaddy when you specifically want cPanel, daily backups on the cheapest multi-site plan, or to keep hosting in the GoDaddy account that already holds your domain—and ask for the renewal amount in writing first.

Hostinger vs GoDaddy: start with your daily work

A shop, clinic, coaching centre or local service site

Start with Hostinger Premium. One to three simple sites, Indian visitors and a small budget fit its lower upfront payment and India server option.

Weekly backups are the catch. If you change the site often, keep your own backup or compare Unlimited.

A WooCommerce store taking orders

Compare Hostinger Unlimited with GoDaddy Deluxe. Both list daily backups; orders placed after the last backup still need a plan.

For a store, the payment gateway matters as much as hosting. See our e-commerce platform guide.

Your domain and email already sit at GoDaddy

You do not have to buy GoDaddy hosting to keep the domain there. Point the domain to any host.

Buy GoDaddy hosting only if one account and one bill are worth more to you than the price gap shown below.

A developer or agency that wants cPanel

GoDaddy’s web hosting plans list cPanel; Hostinger uses its own hPanel. If your developer works in cPanel daily, that counts.

For several client sites, compare GoDaddy Ultimate (25 sites) with Hostinger Unlimited on the 3-year table.

These are starting points, not rankings. Your site count, how often the site changes and who maintains it should settle the choice.

What you pay in India, before and after GST

These are the comparable shared-hosting plans on each company’s India page (Hostinger, GoDaddy) on 28 October 2026. Hostinger’s lowest prices need a 48-month term. GoDaddy’s web hosting prices need a 36-month term. “With GST” is our calculation at 18%; your invoice is the final word.

Hostinger Premium

12-month term: ₹2,388 (₹2,818 with GST). 24-month term: ₹4,056 (₹4,786 with GST).

Renewal not printed.

10 websites, 50 GB NVMe, cPanel, daily backups, free SSL for all sites, free domain (first year).

GoDaddy India web hosting

Smallest plans: Hostinger Single is ₹3,312 for 48 months (₹69/month; renews at ₹289/month) and GoDaddy Starter is ₹3,204 for 36 months (₹89/month). Both are one-website plans with 10 GB storage. Larger plans: GoDaddy Ultimate is ₹14,364 for 36 months (25 websites, 75 GB); Hostinger Cloud Startup is ₹28,752 for 48 months and renews at ₹1,599/month.

Hostinger is running a sale season offer on these prices, so they may change. Check the price on the day you buy and compare it with the dated figures here.

The 3-year cost is the real comparison

Most small businesses keep the same host for years. So compare what you pay for three years of hosting, not the first month. The table uses the prices above and assumes nothing else is added to the cart.

How you buy Before GST With 18% GST What it covers
Hostinger Premium, 48 months upfront ₹6,672 ₹7,873 4 years
Hostinger Premium, 24 months + 12 months at ₹449 ₹9,444 ₹11,144 3 years
Hostinger Premium, 12 months + 24 months at ₹449 ₹13,164 ₹15,534 3 years
GoDaddy Economy, 36 months upfront ₹7,884 ₹9,303 3 years
Hostinger Unlimited, 48 months upfront ₹9,552 ₹11,271 4 years
Hostinger Unlimited, 24 months + 12 months at ₹649 ₹13,764 ₹16,242 3 years
GoDaddy Deluxe, 36 months upfront ₹11,844 ₹13,976 3 years
Hosting charges only, from the official Hostinger and GoDaddy India pages, checked 28 October 2026. GST calculated by ScaleSaathi at 18%. Domain renewals, paid email, extra SSL and add-ons are excluded.
Bar chart comparing the 3-year hosting cost with 18% GST: Hostinger Premium 48-month ₹7,873, GoDaddy Economy 36-month ₹9,303, Hostinger Unlimited 48-month ₹11,271, GoDaddy Deluxe 36-month ₹13,976.
Upfront cost with 18% GST for the longest-term offers (Hostinger 48 months, GoDaddy 36 months).

Three things stand out:

  • Hostinger’s 48-month Premium costs less than GoDaddy’s 36-month Economy and covers an extra year. The catch is that you pay four years in one go.
  • On a 12-month term the first bill is identical: ₹2,388 before GST for both Hostinger Premium and GoDaddy Economy. The difference comes at renewal—Hostinger says ₹449/month; GoDaddy does not say.
  • Short terms cost far more over three years. Hostinger Premium bought one year at a time comes to ₹13,164 before GST, nearly twice the 48-month price. Buy short only if the website is still an experiment.

Our web hosting cost guide explains how to compare terms on other hosts the same way.

Renewal: one price is published, one is not

Hostinger prints the renewal on the plan card

Each Hostinger plan card says “Renews at ₹… /mo for the same term”: ₹289 for Single, ₹449 for Premium, ₹649 for Unlimited and ₹1,599 for Cloud Startup. For Premium on a fresh 48-month renewal, that is ₹21,552 before GST (₹25,431 with GST)—more than three times the first payment. Budget for it now.

GoDaddy says renewal pricing is subject to change

GoDaddy’s India hosting page shows a struck-through regular price next to each offer (for example ₹599/month for Economy and ₹849/month for Deluxe), and its disclaimer says introductory pricing is “valid for the initial purchase term only” and “renewal pricing subject to change”. It does not state the renewal price as a number. We have therefore not used the struck-through figure as a renewal price. Ask GoDaddy for the renewal amount in writing, or check it in your account before the term ends.

With both companies, products renew automatically until you cancel. Put the renewal date in your calendar a month ahead.

What each plan includes

Hostinger Premium Hostinger Unlimited GoDaddy Economy GoDaddy Deluxe
Websites 3 Unlimited (within plan resources) 1 10
Storage 20 GB SSD 50 GB NVMe 25 GB NVMe 50 GB NVMe
Backups Weekly Daily Daily Daily
Control panel hPanel hPanel cPanel cPanel
SSL Free Free Free for 1 year, then renews at the then-current price Free for all sites
Free domain First year First year First year; listed extensions do not include .in Same as Economy
Email 2 mailboxes per site, free for 1 year Mailboxes free for 1 year Professional Email Pro Light free for 1 year Same as Economy
Money-back 30 days 30 days 30 days on annual plans 30 days on annual plans
From each company’s India plan cards, cart pages and disclaimers on 28 October 2026. Confirm the exact inclusions for your order.

Watch the “free” items. GoDaddy’s free domain must be added to the cart at purchase and covers a list of extensions—.com, .net, .org, .store and others—but .in is not on it. Each free domain also carries an ICANN fee (₹19 per year shown). On Economy, the free SSL renews after the first year at GoDaddy’s then-current price; Deluxe and Ultimate list free SSL for all sites. With Hostinger, the domain and mailboxes are free for the first year only. Our domain registrar guide compares .in renewal prices, and the business email price guide covers what email costs after year one.

Server location, UPI and support for Indian businesses

Server location

Hostinger lists India among the server locations for its web and cloud hosting plans, alongside other locations in Asia, Europe and the Americas. GoDaddy’s India web hosting page says “data centers in North America and Europe”. For a site whose visitors are mostly in India, a nearby server is a sensible starting point, but it is not a speed guarantee—your theme, plugins and images matter more than most owners expect. Test your own pages after setup.

Paying with UPI and getting a GST invoice

Both accept UPI for India accounts. Hostinger India lists UPI and RuPay cards (UPI payments can take 2–6 hours to show on the invoice). GoDaddy India lists UPI, net banking, RuPay and other cards, and wallets such as MobiKwik. If your business is GST-registered, add your GSTIN before paying so the invoice can support an input tax credit; check with your accountant.

Support

Hostinger advertises 24/7 support through its AI agent and chat. GoDaddy says its support team can be reached by chat, phone or email. Response times are not published by either company. If phone support matters to you, that is a point for GoDaddy.

WordPress and online-store fit

Both run WordPress on their shared plans. GoDaddy also sells Managed Hosting for WordPress, a separate product priced per year: Basic ₹149/month (₹1,788 for 12 months), Deluxe ₹499/month and Ultimate ₹849/month, all before GST and for the first 1-year term. Deluxe and Ultimate add a staging site; Ultimate lists WooCommerce selling. Hostinger lists e-commerce on all its web hosting plans and an AI store assistant from Premium upward.

For a WooCommerce store, compare the plans with daily backups (Hostinger Unlimited, any GoDaddy web hosting plan) and ask how you would restore without losing recent orders. Payments are a separate choice: our payment gateway guide covers Razorpay and other Indian options. If you would rather not maintain WordPress at all, see our managed WordPress hosting guide.

Speed and uptime measured from Mumbai

Neither host publishes India response times, so the best public evidence is an independent monitor. HostLatency buys plans and checks them every 60 seconds from a Mumbai probe. Its 90-day table, seen 30 October 2026, reported:

Plan monitored Server location reported Uptime (90 days) Incidents Time to first byte
Hostinger Premium Mumbai 99.86% 63 239 ms
GoDaddy Web Hosting Deluxe Singapore 99.98% 22 347 ms

Read that as one site per host, not a verdict on every server. It matches what the server locations predict: a Mumbai server answers Indian visitors faster, by about a tenth of a second per request here. GoDaddy’s site stayed up more of the time, with a third of the incidents. For a brochure site neither gap is something a visitor would notice; for a store, 63 short outages in 90 days is worth watching. Note that HostLatency lists GoDaddy’s server in Singapore while GoDaddy’s own India hosting page mentions data centres in North America and Europe, so ask GoDaddy which region your account will be on.

After you buy, set up a free uptime monitor on your own site during the 30-day money-back window. That tells you more than any table.

What the cheapest plans leave out

Both entry plans look like a bargain for a first website. Check what is missing before you pick one.

  • GoDaddy Starter (India page, 30 October 2026): ₹89/month for the first 3-year term against a struck-through ₹299. One website, 10 GB, cPanel and daily backups, but the card lists no free domain, no email and no SSL. Economy is the cheapest GoDaddy plan that lists all three for the first year. Without SSL, browsers mark the site “Not secure”, so budget for a certificate or move up a plan.
  • Hostinger Single (India page, 30 October 2026): ₹69/month, ₹3,312 for 48 months, renews at ₹289/month. One website, 10 GB, weekly backups and a free mailbox. The card shows “Free domain”, but the FAQ on the same page says the free domain comes with all plans longer than a year “except the Single plan”. Check the cart before paying.

For a business site that needs its own domain and email, compare Hostinger Premium with GoDaddy Economy, not the two cheapest plans.

Where Hostinger is stronger

Lower upfront cost for the same three years

Premium on 48 months (₹6,672 before GST) costs less than GoDaddy Economy on 36 months (₹7,884) and gives three sites instead of one.

A published renewal price

You can work out year five before you buy. That makes budgeting honest.

India as a server location

Useful for businesses whose customers are mostly in India. Confirm the location is offered for your plan when you set up the site.

Where GoDaddy is stronger

Daily backups on every web hosting plan

GoDaddy lists automatic daily backups on all its web hosting plans. Hostinger gives daily backups only from Unlimited; Premium is weekly.

cPanel and a three-year price lock

Developers who know cPanel can work straight away. A 36-month term means no renewal within the three years you are comparing.

One account with your domain

Many Indian businesses bought their domain at GoDaddy. Keeping hosting there means one login and one bill—convenient, though not a reason to pay much more.

Limitations of each

Hostinger: weekly backups on Premium and a big renewal jump

Weekly backups can leave a week of changes exposed. And the renewal (₹449/month on Premium) is more than three times the 48-month offer. “Unlimited” websites still share one plan’s CPU, memory and file limits.

GoDaddy: unstated renewal, no India data centre listed, free domain excludes .in

You cannot calculate the renewal from the page. Economy hosts one site only, and its free SSL renews at a cost after year one. Watch for add-ons offered in the cart (for example a Norton trial on WordPress plans) and remove what you do not need.

How we would evaluate before buying

  • Write down how many sites, mailboxes and GB of storage you need now and in three years.
  • Get the full cart total with GST for your chosen term, and the renewal amount for the same term—in writing for GoDaddy.
  • Check which domain extension is free (.in or .com) and what the domain and email will cost from year two.
  • Confirm the server location you will be given and test a page from India after setup.
  • Ask support one real question before buying and note how and how quickly you get an answer.
  • Use the 30-day money-back window: set up the site, test backups and restore, then decide.

Moving from one to the other

Moving from GoDaddy to Hostinger (or the other way) is common and both offer migration help: Hostinger accepts website migration requests from hPanel, and GoDaddy offers a free site migration tool for new hosting accounts. The risk is not the files—it is email, DNS and the days around the switch.

  1. Take a full backup (files and database) and download it to your computer.
  2. Note every DNS record at the current host, especially MX, SPF/DKIM and any Google or Microsoft verification records.
  3. Lower the DNS TTL a day ahead.
  4. Request the migration or copy the site, then check it on the new host using a temporary URL.
  5. Change nameservers or A records. Keep the old hosting active.
  6. Install SSL, test forms, payments and email, and watch for a few days.
  7. Cancel the old plan only after everything works; your domain can stay where it is.

Our step-by-step web hosting migration guide and WordPress migration plugin guide cover each step in detail.

Download the 3-year cost workbook

Enter the price you see on the day you buy, the term and the renewal you are quoted. The workbook adds 18% GST (editable) and shows the 3-year and 5-year totals side by side.

Our final recommendation

Choose Hostinger if you want the lowest 3-year cost for a small business site, Indian visitors and a renewal price you can see today. Pick Premium for up to three simple sites and Unlimited for a store or a site that changes daily.

Choose GoDaddy if cPanel, daily backups on a one-site plan or one account with your existing GoDaddy domain are worth roughly ₹1,400 more (with GST) over three years compared with Hostinger Premium—and only after GoDaddy tells you the renewal price.

Choose neither if you need guaranteed resources for a busy store or custom app; look at cloud hosting or Cloudways vs shared hosting instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hostinger cheaper than GoDaddy in India?

On the India price pages (Hostinger, GoDaddy) checked on 28 October 2026, yes for comparable entry plans. Hostinger Premium costs ₹6,672 for 48 months; GoDaddy Economy costs ₹7,884 for 36 months. Both figures exclude 18% GST. Hostinger also shows its renewal price (₹449 a month for Premium); GoDaddy’s page says renewal pricing is subject to change, so ask for the renewal amount before paying.

Do Hostinger and GoDaddy prices include GST?

No. Hostinger states that prices are listed without GST, and GoDaddy states that all prices exclude applicable taxes and fees. Add 18% GST to budget the amount you will actually pay. A GST-registered business should enter its GSTIN at checkout and check the invoice details.

Which is better for a WordPress site in India?

For a typical small business WordPress site, Hostinger is the stronger starting point because India is one of its listed server locations and its published renewal prices make the long-term cost clearer. GoDaddy’s web hosting page lists data centres in North America and Europe. Choose GoDaddy when cPanel, daily backups on every plan or an existing GoDaddy account matter more to you.

Can I pay Hostinger and GoDaddy with UPI?

Yes, according to both companies’ help pages. Hostinger India accepts UPI and RuPay cards on its India account. GoDaddy India lists UPI, net banking, RuPay and other cards and wallets for payments in rupees.

Is the free domain a .in domain?

Not necessarily. GoDaddy’s free-domain terms list extensions such as .com, .net, .org and .store, and .in is not on that list. Hostinger says a free domain comes with plans longer than a year, except Single. With both companies the free domain is for the first year only and then renews at the normal price.

Can I move my website from GoDaddy to Hostinger?

Yes. Hostinger offers website migration requests from hPanel, and GoDaddy offers a free migration tool for sites moving to its hosting. Keep the old hosting active until the new site, email and SSL work, lower DNS TTL before switching, and cancel the old plan only after a few days of checks.

Which is faster in India, Hostinger or GoDaddy?

On HostLatency’s Mumbai monitor (90 days, seen 30 October 2026), Hostinger Premium on a Mumbai server averaged 239 ms to first byte and GoDaddy Deluxe on a Singapore server 347 ms. GoDaddy had higher uptime: 99.98% against 99.86%. These are single monitored sites, so test your own site during the 30-day refund window.

Does GoDaddy Starter include SSL and email?

Not on the plan card. GoDaddy’s India web hosting page (30 October 2026) lists one website, 10 GB and cPanel for Starter at ₹89/month on a 3-year term, but no free domain, email or SSL. Economy (₹219/month) adds all three for the first year.
