Quick answer: The cheapest like-for-like swap is usually Hostinger Premium at ₹139/month (₹6,672 for 48 months, renews at ₹449/month) versus GoDaddy Deluxe at ₹329/month (₹11,844 for 36 months). Add 18% GST. Cloudways and Kinsta cost more but suit busier sites.

The best GoDaddy alternatives depend on which part of your setup needs to change. For a modest WordPress site, start with Hostinger. For a site needing a configurable cloud server, compare Cloudways Flexible. For a WordPress business willing to pay more for platform support and recovery tools, consider Kinsta.
If the problem is only your domain renewal, compare registrars separately. If you use GoDaddy’s website builder, assess another builder and the work of rebuilding your pages before buying hosting.
This is a documentation-based comparison, with conditional recommendations rather than purchased-account speed tests. “Best” here means a useful match for a particular requirement; it does not mean every alternative is cheaper or faster than your existing plan.
Choose GoDaddy alternatives around the problem
Write down the product name from your account and one reason for changing it. “Hosting feels expensive” is less useful than “the next renewal exceeds my budget” or “my site repeatedly reaches its resource limit.”
- A small site with an unaffordable renewal: compare Hostinger’s full commitment and later renewal against your actual GoDaddy invoice.
- A WordPress site outgrowing its current allocation: investigate the bottleneck, then price a Cloudways Flexible configuration that addresses it.
- A site needing better recovery and platform assistance: compare Kinsta’s service scope and the developer work you must still fund.
- Domain or builder dissatisfaction: use the separate routes below. A new hosting account may solve neither problem.
If you need to establish the hosting category first, use our web hosting selection guide for India or the Hosting Plan Finder. The tool provides a starting category, not a capacity guarantee for your site.

What users commonly report
These themes summarise public reviews of GoDaddy on sites such as Trustpilot and ConsumerComplaints.in. They explain why people often look elsewhere, and also what they may miss.
- Renewal shock: the most repeated reason to look elsewhere is renewal pricing well above the first-term price.
- Auto-renewals and add-ons: users report unexpected renewals and checkout extras they did not expect.
- Support wait times: long waits to reach a live agent come up often, and Indian complaint-site users report unresolved issues.
- What users like: friendly, patient agents once connected and easy setup for simple sites are common positives worth keeping in mind before switching.
Three hosting alternatives worth comparing
Hostinger: for a modest WordPress site with a tight budget
Consider it when: your main concern is cost and you are comfortable managing the website through a different control panel.
Hostinger Premium’s displayed offer was ₹139/month for 48 months, paid as ₹6,672 upfront before GST (checked 21 Oct 2026; renews at ₹449/month). Its listed renewal reference is ₹449/month. The plan lists three websites, 20 GB SSD storage and weekly backups. Hostinger uses hPanel, so check the tasks you currently perform in GoDaddy’s panel before moving. Official plan details.
What makes it relevant: this is a concrete prepaid option for a few modest sites. It gives you an invoice to compare, rather than a vague promise that moving will save money. The four-year commitment matters if the website is experimental or may close sooner.
Main trade-off: weekly backups alone may be too infrequent for a site collecting orders or other valuable new data. Decide how much recent work you can afford to lose and price a suitable recovery arrangement.
Hostinger lists India for web and cloud hosting, but the actual location choices depend on availability during setup. Confirm the location in your account; an India-facing sales page is not proof of the selected server location. Location documentation.
Our call: shortlist Premium for a small site when the full payment, renewal and maintenance arrangement fit. Read our Hostinger India review before committing to a long term.
Cloudways Flexible: for a site needing configurable resources
Consider it when: you or your developer can explain what the current hosting lacks and select an appropriate server configuration.
Cloudways advertises managed cloud hosting from US$11/month. Treat that as an advertised starting point, not a quote for your chosen Indian region and workload. Flexible pricing depends on the infrastructure provider, server and location. Its pricing page lists off-site backup storage separately at US$0.033/GB per server, and email as an optional service. Obtain the complete estimate from the configurator. Pricing and billing information.
What makes it relevant: Flexible offers a route to choose and scale server resources as requirements change. That is useful when you have evidence of a hosting constraint and someone who can manage the application. This recommendation concerns Flexible; do not apply another Cloudways product’s autoscaling claims to it.
Main trade-off: included Standard support focuses on infrastructure and the platform. Advanced and Premium add-ons extend application-level assistance. Ask about your specific plugin, database or error investigation; paying for hosting does not establish that custom development is included. Support scope.
Our call: compare it when greater configuration control solves a documented problem. A brochure site with no resource issue may gain little from the extra decisions and separate services.
Kinsta: for WordPress platform support and recovery tools
Consider it when: the website is important enough to justify a higher recurring hosting budget, while a developer remains responsible for its code and functionality.
Kinsta’s Single 20GB bandwidth plan lists a regular monthly price of US$35, before any introductory promotion. It includes one WordPress installation, 10 GB storage, 20 GB monthly server bandwidth and 14-day backup retention. The “20GB” plan name describes bandwidth, not disk space. Check the selected billing basis and overage terms. Kinsta pricing.
What makes it relevant: you can compare a WordPress-specific platform, staging and recovery workflow instead of choosing another low introductory rate. Kinsta lists Mumbai among its managed WordPress locations; confirm the location available for the chosen site. Data centre documentation.
Main trade-off: Kinsta’s support policy excludes development responsibilities such as changing theme or plugin functionality and editing code. Plugin and theme automatic updates are also offered as a separate paid service after an introductory period. “Managed” still requires a clear division of work. Support and maintenance boundaries.
Our call: consider it for a WordPress site when its platform workflow addresses a real operational need. Use our managed WordPress hosting guide to decide what assistance is worth paying for.
All eight alternatives in one table
We checked each host’s own pricing page on 25 October 2026. Rupee prices exclude 18% GST unless a column says otherwise; dollar prices exclude tax, which is added according to your billing address. Where a page did not state something clearly, the cell says “check vendor site” instead of guessing.
| Host | Plan and term | Upfront | With 18% GST | Renewal behaviour | Free domain | Support | Best for | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy (staying) | Deluxe, ₹329/mo × 36 | ₹11,844 | ₹13,975.92 | Struck price ₹849/mo shown; not labelled as renewal | 1st year | Free 1st year | 24×7 chat | Keeping everything in one account |
| Hostinger | Premium, ₹139/mo × 48 | ₹6,672 | ₹7,872.96 | Renews at ₹449/mo | 1st year | check vendor site | 24/7 | Lowest long-term price for small sites |
| MilesWeb | Premium, ₹99/mo × 36 | ₹3,564 | ₹4,205.52 | “Same price at renewal” stated for this offer | 1st year | 50 accounts | 24/7 | India-hosted small business sites |
| Bluehost India | Starter, ₹199/mo × 36 | ₹7,164 | ₹8,453.52 | Renews at ₹349/mo | 1st year | Pro Email trial, then ₹238/mo | 24/7 chat; phone from Business plan | WordPress beginners who want many sites |
| BigRock | Linux hosting from ₹69/mo | Check vendor site | Check vendor site | check vendor site | Listed | Unlimited accounts listed | 24/7 chat; phone 9 am–8 pm | Buyers who want an Indian brand and phone help |
| Cloudways | From US$11/mo, monthly | Monthly billing | Tax by billing address | Pay as you go; no intro price | No | Paid add-on | 24/7 | Growing WordPress or WooCommerce sites |
| Kinsta | Single 20GB, US$35/mo or US$350/yr | US$350 per year | Tax added | Same plan price | No | check vendor site | check vendor site | Business sites that want fully managed WordPress |
| Namecheap | Shared hosting from US$1.88/mo | Check vendor site | Tax added | check vendor site | check vendor site | check vendor site | 24/7 | Buyers who already use Namecheap domains |
Two notes that change the comparison. First, HostGator India no longer sells new plans: its site says HostGator India merged into BigRock from 15 July 2025 and sends new customers to BigRock. Second, MilesWeb is the only host here that says the offer price stays the same at renewal; for every other host, plan around the renewal figure, not the offer.
| Plan | Upfront | Term | Per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| GoDaddy Deluxe | ₹11,844 | 36 months | ₹3,948 |
| Hostinger Premium | ₹6,672 | 48 months | ₹1,668 |
| MilesWeb Premium | ₹3,564 | 36 months | ₹1,188 |
| Bluehost India Starter | ₹7,164 | 36 months | ₹2,388 |
Per year of the offer term, MilesWeb Premium works out to ₹1,188, Hostinger Premium to ₹1,668, Bluehost Starter to ₹2,388 and GoDaddy Deluxe to ₹3,948. These are averages over different term lengths, so compare the total you will actually pay upfront as well.
Replacing only a domain or website builder
BigRock: a domain-only candidate
If registration cost or domain administration is the concern, BigRock is one candidate to compare. It offers .com and .in registration, domain transfers and DNS management. This is a domain-service option, not a recommendation of its hosting plans. Visit BigRock.
Compare the exact extension’s renewal and transfer quote, taxes, account access and optional extras. A headline offer for a different extension tells you little about your existing domain. Our domain registrar comparison covers the broader registrar decision.
You can also keep a domain registered at GoDaddy while hosting the website elsewhere. GoDaddy’s DNS documentation distinguishes website records from email records; update the relevant website settings while preserving the email configuration you still need. If another provider manages your nameservers, make changes there. GoDaddy DNS guidance.
Wix: a builder candidate when the editing experience is the issue
Wix is worth evaluating if you want a hosted website editor. Test one important page, a form and any booking or payment requirement before paying. Estimate the work of moving your existing content, layout and integrations rather than assuming a hosting migration will reproduce them.
Wix sites must operate on Wix’s infrastructure, although a domain can remain registered elsewhere. Moving to Wix therefore does not give you a site you can simply host on any provider later. Wix portability explanation.
Use our website builder guide for Indian businesses for a fuller comparison of editing convenience, features and ongoing cost.
Compare the cost of staying and switching
Use the same period and the same required services on both sides. A four-year prepaid rate and a monthly cloud bill answer different cash-flow questions.
For the stay option, collect the upcoming hosting renewal plus required email, domain, backups and other services. For the switch option, add the replacement services, migration labour, any overlapping subscriptions and the cost of work needed to make the new setup usable.
Illustrative example—not provider prices: suppose staying costs ₹9,000 a year. The alternative costs ₹6,000 a year for equivalent services, but moving costs ₹4,000 once. On those assumptions:
- Recurring saving: ₹9,000 − ₹6,000 = ₹3,000 a year, or ₹250 a month.
- Time to recover the move cost: ₹4,000 ÷ ₹250 = 16 months.
- First-year outlay: staying ₹9,000; switching ₹10,000.
This assumes unchanged rates, evenly accrued savings and equivalent tax treatment. It excludes the time value of money and operational risk. If the alternative later renews at a higher price, recalculate; the initial saving may disappear.

For USD quotes, budget using your actual payment conversion and applicable taxes rather than a permanent rupee conversion printed in a comparison. Check the payable term and refund exclusions before paying. Our hosting cost guide explains the broader budget components.
How to move from GoDaddy without downtime
Moving a small site is usually a weekend job. Follow these steps in order and keep GoDaddy active until the last one is done.
- Buy the new hosting plan, but do not cancel GoDaddy yet.
- Take a full backup from GoDaddy: website files, the database and a list of email accounts.
- Use the new host’s migration help if it is offered — MilesWeb lists free migration and Bluehost lists a free WordPress migration tool — or copy the site yourself with a migration plugin.
- Check the copied site on the new host’s temporary address: pages, forms, checkout and logins.
- Recreate email accounts on the new host or your email provider, then move old mail if you need it.
- Lower the DNS time-to-live a day ahead, then point the domain’s nameservers or records to the new host.
- Wait 24–48 hours, test again from mobile data, and only then cancel GoDaddy hosting.
Checklist before you cancel
- Site loads on the domain with the padlock (SSL) showing
- Contact forms and order emails arrive
- Email sends and receives on every account
- Old backups are downloaded and stored outside both hosts
- Domain auto-renewal is still switched on wherever the domain lives
What moving costs
| Item | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Migration by the new host | ₹0 where offered | MilesWeb and Bluehost list free migration help; check limits |
| Migration plugin, do it yourself | Often ₹0 | Large sites may need a paid plugin tier |
| Unused GoDaddy months | Usually lost after the refund window | GoDaddy’s refund policy gives 30 days on annual plans |
| Email move | ₹0 to a paid email plan | Depends on where email will live |
| Domain transfer (optional) | About one year’s renewal at the new registrar | You can keep the domain at GoDaddy and only move hosting |
Check the replacement before cancelling GoDaddy
Treat the move as a small acceptance project. Ask the receiving provider what it will move, what you must handle and what happens if the copy fails validation.
- Inventory the services. Record hosting, domain registration, DNS, mailboxes and any builder subscription separately. Identify which renewals must continue.
- Keep an independent recovery copy. A typical WordPress backup needs both files and its database. Store a complete copy outside the account being replaced. WordPress backup guidance.
- Test the new copy. Check important URLs, images, forms, logins, scheduled jobs and payment flows that your site uses. Confirm form messages arrive at the intended inbox.
- Plan the changeover. For stores or frequently updated sites, agree how newer orders and edits will be preserved between the initial copy and the final switch. Keep URL paths where possible and plan redirects for deliberate changes.
- Close only the services you have replaced. After the new setup passes your checks, confirm the relevant cancellation and renewal settings. Do not cancel a domain or mailbox you still use.
A free migration offer is not evidence that every service in the old account will be recreated. Use the web hosting migration guide for the detailed move once you have selected the destination.

When staying with GoDaddy is reasonable
Keep the existing setup if it is reliable for your work, the renewal is acceptable and the people maintaining the site can use it effectively. First check whether changing the plan, removing an unused extra or improving the website itself addresses the complaint.
Our GoDaddy hosting review helps assess its hosting terms and service boundaries. Move when you can name the improvement, fund the complete replacement and verify that the new setup delivers it. A different provider’s introductory discount is only one part of that decision.
Frequently asked questions
Which GoDaddy alternative should a small Indian business compare first?
For a modest WordPress site where cost is the main concern, compare Hostinger’s full commitment and renewal against your actual bill. Cloudways Flexible and Kinsta address different resource and platform-support requirements. A domain-only or website-builder problem needs its own comparison.
Do I have to transfer my GoDaddy domain when I change hosting?
No. A domain can remain registered at GoDaddy while its website uses another host. Update the relevant website DNS records at the provider managing your DNS, and preserve the email records for any mail service you retain.
Is Hostinger always cheaper than GoDaddy?
No. The result depends on the selected plans, billing periods, renewals, taxes, extras and switching work. A low monthly equivalent can require a large prepaid commitment. Compare the same services over the same period using the actual invoices.
Does managed hosting replace my WordPress developer?
Do not assume it does. Cloudways distinguishes platform support from expanded application assistance, and Kinsta excludes development responsibilities from hosting support. Ask who will fix custom code, maintain plugins and test important workflows before choosing a service.
Can moving to Wix solve a hosting problem?
Wix is a separate website-building platform. Evaluate it when you want its editing workflow and can budget for rebuilding or adapting the existing site. Wix sites operate on Wix infrastructure; they are not a portable replacement hosting account for an unchanged website.
Should I cancel GoDaddy before starting a migration?
Keep the required services active while you inventory the account, back up the site, test the replacement and plan the final data changeover. Cancel only the services you have successfully replaced, following their actual renewal and cancellation conditions.
What is the cheapest alternative to GoDaddy hosting in India?
Among the hosts on this page, Hostinger Single was the cheapest when we checked on 25 October 2026: ₹69/month for 48 months (₹3,312 before GST), renewing at ₹289/month. It covers one website.
How much can I save by moving from GoDaddy Deluxe to Hostinger Premium?
At offer prices, GoDaddy Deluxe averages about ₹3,948 a year and Hostinger Premium about ₹1,668 a year, both before GST. That is roughly ₹2,280 a year, before any migration cost and before renewal prices apply.
Do Cloudways and Kinsta charge GST in India?
Both bill in US dollars. Cloudways says it adds taxes such as GST based on your billing address. Kinsta says its prices exclude tax. Check the final invoice amount before you pay.
Is HostGator India still available?
No for new customers. HostGator India says it merged into BigRock from 15 July 2025 and sends new customers to BigRock.in.
Which GoDaddy alternative keeps the same price at renewal?
On 25 October 2026 MilesWeb stated “same price at renewal” for its hosting offer. Hostinger and Bluehost list higher renewal prices.
