Prices checked 25 October 2026 IST on each company’s official pricing page. Some companies show Indian visitors rupee prices and others show US dollars; we show the currency the official page shows, and say whether GST is included where the page says so. Where a rupee figure comes from a news report rather than the company, it is labelled with the source and date.

Short answer: the cheapest paid AI plans for Indians are ChatGPT Go (₹399 a month including GST, as shown for India on OpenAI’s pricing data) and Google AI Plus (₹399 a month). The popular “standard” plans cost about ₹2,000 a month: ChatGPT Plus ₹1,999 including GST, Google AI Pro ₹1,950, and Claude Pro US$20 a month on Anthropic’s page (reported at ₹2,399 a month including GST in India). For a team that needs admin control, ChatGPT Business is ₹2,250 per user a month plus GST, and Claude Team starts at US$25 per seat a month billed monthly.

Rule of thumb: pay for one general assistant, not three. ChatGPT Plus, Google AI Pro and Claude Pro cost about the same and overlap heavily; try all three free plans on your own tasks for a week and pay for the one you open most. Team plans vs individual plans

Personal plans (Go, Plus, Google AI Plus or Pro, Claude Pro) belong to one person. If an employee leaves, their chats and uploaded files leave with their account. Team plans cost more per person but give the owner control:

ChatGPT Business needs at least 2 seats. OpenAI’s help centre says it is paid by credit or debit card; invoice billing and bank transfer are not available on self-serve Business. A Premium seat with 5x more usage is ₹11,250 per user a month (₹9,000 billed yearly) plus GST, as shown for India on OpenAI’s pricing data.
Claude Team is for 2 to 150 people, with Standard and Premium seats, and Anthropic’s page says there is no model training on your content by default.
Google and Microsoft: if your team already uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 for email, check the AI included in your current plan before buying another assistant.

GST input tax credit: to claim input credit, your accountant will need a proper tax invoice showing your business name and GSTIN. OpenAI lets you add a tax ID to billing details, which only changes future invoices; no company we checked says on its pricing page that it issues a GST invoice with your GSTIN for consumer plans. If input credit matters, ask the provider before you pay, and confirm with your accountant.

Avoid grey-market “cheap ChatGPT” and “cheap Claude” sellers

Websites, Telegram channels and marketplace listings sell “shared” or “lifetime” access to ChatGPT Plus, Claude Pro or Google AI plans for a fraction of the price. Avoid them. These are usually shared accounts or resold logins: the seller can read your chats, access can stop without notice, you get no GST invoice, and it may break the provider’s terms. Buy only on chatgpt.com, claude.ai, one.google.com, microsoft.com, perplexity.ai or the official app stores.

Free offers and why prices change

AI companies change plans and prices often, and run India-only offers through telecom operators and promotions. This page is rechecked every month and the date at the top changes when we do. On 25 October 2026, OpenAI’s pricing data for India showed ChatGPT Go at ₹399 a month and Plus at ₹1,999 a month, both including GST. Pro starts at ₹10,699 a month. ChatGPT Business is ₹2,250 per user a month (₹1,800 billed yearly) plus GST.

What is the price of Claude Pro in India?

Is GST included in AI subscription prices?

It depends on the plan. OpenAI’s pricing data for India includes GST in Go, Plus and Pro but adds it to Business. Anthropic’s page shows dollar prices before tax. Google’s and Microsoft’s India pages show rupee prices without a GST note, so check the total at checkout.

Can I pay for ChatGPT with UPI?

Yes, for Go and Plus bought on chatgpt.com, according to OpenAI’s help centre. UPI is not offered for Pro or Business.

Which is cheaper: ChatGPT Plus or Google AI Pro?

Google AI Pro is ₹1,950 a month on Google’s India page and ChatGPT Plus is ₹1,999 including GST, so they are close. Google AI Pro also includes 5 TB of storage. Pick the one that does your task better in a free trial.

Should a small team buy ChatGPT Business or personal plans?

If two or more people use AI for work, a business plan gives the owner control over accounts and data. ChatGPT Business needs at least 2 seats; Claude Team covers 2 to 150 people.

Is it safe to buy a cheap shared ChatGPT or Claude account?

No. Shared or resold accounts let the seller see your chats, can stop working at any time and come without a GST invoice. Buy only from the official website or app store.
